IGCN Follows a heuristic approach to design.
A heuristic approach is an efficient, standard technique used by IGCN design and technical professionals during the user interface design and development process to identify and define the usability of an interactive system or user interface. The method involves having our experts design and develop the interface for compliance with general usability principles and related issues including accessibility and trustworthiness.
The following standard principles of interface design are among those used to evaluate the usability of a digital product:
Consistency: Refers to the language, format and behavior of the application. Consistency enhances the predictability of a system and makes it easier to learn.
Simplicity: Allows the user to perform tasks in as few steps as possible. A simple interface does not confuse a user by presenting too many choices. Simplicity also limits cognitive demands.
Flexibility: Allows each user to tailor the system for his or her needs, style and tasks. This can mean allowing a user to perform a task in more than one way or the ability to store a user profile with defaults reflecting user preferences. Such customization gives the user a sense of control and can improve productivity.
Intuitiveness: Intuitive interfaces build on conventions and user experiences to provide natural mappings and present information in a natural and logical order. The best interfaces use familiar concepts and language.
Responsiveness: Refers to the need to keep users informed. This includes maintaining an awareness of where the user is within the framework of an application and acknowledging user requests through appropriate feedback within a reasonable timeframe.
Robustness: Seeks to minimize the opportunity for errors and allows the user to recover gracefully from a mistake. Provides an easy way out of an unwanted choice.
Site Design and Metaphor
Taking into consideration the heuristic approach, our method for defining and establishing site brand equity is as follows:
Programming and Research: Gathering information and establishing design criteria, to define the needs to develop the appropriate solution based on best practices and client requirements.
Concept development: Upon designer and client agreement concerning the basic program, visual solutions will be pursued; ideas that the design team feels are viable, appropriate, and meet the defined criteria.
Design development: The IGCN design team will refine the accepted design, which may include the grid, selected typefaces, and other elements and the assignment of illustration and / or photography. Once the client and designer have chosen a clear direction we will move the design concept into production.
Production: this phase will be a matter of going to production design and providing Foundations with finished design deliverables.
Web Identity
The objective of a properly executed web identity program is the accurate visual presentation of an organization’s unique personality. Although a clients initial focus may be on the development of a new “graphic mark” or look and feel, a complex procedure that involves several phases and expertise is required.
Our approach for this program is as follows:
Orientation: This phase of the project is concerned with gathering information and establishing design image criteria. A significant sampling of visual materials is collected and evaluated. Communication objectives, a plan of action and a nomenclature are established.
Design Development: In this creative phase, design ideas for the primary identification device is developed. Applications to the site must be designed in order to demonstrate the specific advantages of the design.
Recommendations: Will be made and a style guide will be delivered regarding color schemes and secondary topography.
Implementation: This phase of the program is unquestionably the most important. Sufficient application formats will be developed to demonstrate visually the nature of the corporate identification system for the site.
